The Art of Huang Su Ming
Introducing the unique paining style of Huang Su Ming
Bold and vibrant colour combined with the spirit of Chinese brush painting make Huang Su Ming’s work popular both in the East and West.
On being introduced to Huang Su Ming for the first time, I felt we had met before. Something about his face seemed very familiar. It was sometime later I realized he resembles the self-portrayed character painted and made famous by Chinese Artist Yue Minjun. Reassured the likeness was not just apparent to the “western” eye, my Hong Kongese associate had the same realization.
Huang does not speak English, however, his eagerness to discuss and share his work fills the room with joy and sets everyone at ease. Delightfully humble with a relentless wide smile.

Born and raised in the Guangdong Province of China, Huang Su Ming graduated from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art in 1995.
Huang then moved to Beijing where he worked and studied at The Central Academy of Fine Art. He completed his Master’s Degree in Chinese Brush Painting in 1998.

Huang’s paintings capture the tradition of Chinese brush painting and express his true sensibility by using bright and strong colour.
His work demonstrates and reflects the beauty of our natural world in accordance with the beauty of inner consciousness.
Huang’s work has been shown in various solo and group exhibitions throughout China and purchased for private collections in China, Hong Kong, and other overseas countries.
